My fiance and I were walking along the Ohio River in st.marys west Virginia. and she found this on the surface the other day. Im not sure what it is, it definitely looks like a gem stone or something. It has 5 even sides. . Beautiful material any info would be greatly appreciated thanks Brandon

Very cool. Love the color. Glass slag of some type? St. Mary’s had two glass factories at one time. Cool piece for sure.

The facets were created by striking flakes off. Maybe by natives, maybe not. It looks like glass but the inclusions abd apparent flaking makes me wonder if it's a gem stone of some sort that is a core.
