I'm curious if this part of native american history is taught in school in the southeast? Are american school kids learning something of the depth and complexity native america?

We were taught in California schools about the Spanish invasions . The devastation on the Myan’s and Aztecs for their gold . Studied there culture and did reports on them.
The Spanish had a big cultural impact that can still be seen from street name to the El Camino Real bell that are markers on Hwy 101 .
