I'd take that with a grain of salt myself.

I remember a story of one group of scientists bringing back specimens of rocks that came from a volcano that erupted no more than 5 years ago, and bringing it back to another group and didn't tell them about the fact that they knew exactly when it erupted. Those other scientists then proceeded to carbon date the rocks, and proclaimed that they were millions of years old.
