Where are the points?

I look for points, and this is what I bring home.  One side looks to be pretrified wood.  The other side looks like I don't know what?  What causes this?  Seems to be blackened.

Pam are you hunting an area known to produce artifacts? Maybe talk to other collectors in your area to get some ideas on places to hunt   Good hunting Joe.
