  • Civil War bullets and a scraper!?

Found these 2 bullets while walking along a river. I know nothing about bullets. Anyone have any info on them? Also found the scraper/point. It is smooth and unworked on the other side. Is it a scraper? Thanks everyone!

Looks like a couple .58 calibre mini balls - the middle piece being a williams cleaner bullet. I think one in 20 bullets were this type to help
remove the black powder build-up from the barrel. From what I understand, they didn't work all that well. Hard to tell about the stone artifact: is the other side flat? Nice finds!

If the women don\'t find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Great educational video Olden. Never knew they used a cleaner bullet.

That's what they're commonly called - much better info. in the link.

Nothing worse than having a stuck bullet half way down a fouled barrel with no puller

Cool finds, need better pictures or description of the flint piece to figure it out...

Rather looks like a scraper. I think I see edge work on the right side.
