Been discouraged lately not finding anything. Took a walk today in a new spot and found some flakes and then this! Any idea on age? I like the banded flint. Found in allegan county Michigan. Thanks!

That is a sweet little drill, congrats on that find. Hard to give you an age on that it looks like the base has some damage.

Very nice drill. Like Greg said, if you had a good base to ID, you might be able to tell the age.

It's a nice little drill you found for sure. Do you find any points on the site that you can ID as to type?

I just starting walking this site and all I have found so far were flakes and the potential spokeshave I posted on here a few weeks back. I will be definitely walking it again! 😀

Joe is right on the date . If you can start finding points in the area you will have an idea what age it is by identify the point . If you find Early Archaic to Mississippian it will give you an idea .
Many years apart but even could be a multi generational camp... those are interesting .
