Those blade nicks look random and somewhat natural to me, like its seen some hard time in a fast flowing stream. It could have been a utilized flake but that would be hard to determine without it in hand. I'm guessing just a beat up waste flake. Size reference would also help here as its almost impossible to tell with nothing in the pic with it.Josh (Ky/Tn collector)

It's a lithic material but I don't see it being a formal tool. However, it have been expedient, having little to no production effort or made quickly for immediate use in a survival situation. I suggest that because the material breaks conchoidally and has a sharp edge. Seen many like it myself but I examine it and give it back to the earth.
