  • Missouri yesterday

Decided to go out yesterday after heavy rains in the area and found these. I'm curious about the point that is intact. Found in west central Missouri and all three were found in the same general area. I don't know much about this hobby yet, but the complete piece seems to look older than the broken drill and broken point. As always, thanks for the assistance.

Look's like a couple woodland corner notched point's and a drill missing the tip, good finds! The point's could be a hopewell.

I think G10+ is right on the St. Charles Dovetail. It's in rough shape but sure looks good to me. Nice finds Army.

Here is My old St. Charles / Dovetail. Click image for larger version Name:	100_0125.JPG Views:	1 Size:	124.6 KB ID:	261375

But not saying it isn't. It actually does look like one, kind of lol. Things to look at when identifying it is it beveled (first stage may have no bevel) is the base ground and are there serration's. St Charles is a missouri variant of the Dovetail. Love The type!

Bear in mine that I'm a beginner in this hobby and learning a little bit every day I spend on this site and others...I agree that it resembles the St. Charles dovetail somewhat, however, I feel that it more resembles some of the examples of the Hopewell points I've viewed. Humbling feedback welcomed! lol

Well They say anything is possible so I could even eat My word's later on. So, here is a good link on ST. Charles Point's I found earlier. http://www.projectilepoints.net/Points/St_Charles.html
