  • Is this a scraper?

Found this one in a dry creek bed on Bear County, TX yesterday. Is it a scraper. More pics to come.. Was saving trouble uploading.

Looks like a spall to me not a scraper in my honest opinion.

Thank you for checking it out Sir. I am more confused than ever. I just cannot wrap my head around normal weather doing this. Looks to have plenty of micro flaking and is tapered multiple times toward the edges with what appears to be flake removal

Looks like a spall hit from the rind end and looked like a good blank for an expedient, multi use hand tool......cut/grave/scrape?? . A lotta work on it...

Hoss is not saying it wasn't hit by ancient man just that it was a material source (spall /core) rather than an intentional beveled scraper

The edge on a scraper will have a lot of small flakes but they will form a uniform edge not an irregular edge like your example is demonstrating in the photos. Click image for larger version

ID:	272291 These pictures are not the best I appologze. Above I put in a scale for size. It is in CM.
Below I put the arrow pointing to the top of the bevel on the wroking edge of the scraper. A scraper will have a beveled working edge with unifom flaking but it will also show polish at the top pf that bevel . Click image for larger version
