Took a look in a spot (east central Illinois) after some more rain. My buddy was on a roll with 3 or 4 points including a nice dalton. I found a couple points and a really nice blunt, but what got my attention when i was cleaning up my finds is this knife. It looks to have a base with small notching. Would this be a tanged knife??

I cant find any reference to what your calling an "Illinois Tang Knife". Were did you hear about this form of knife and are you aware of any literature about them. I can find Perino tanged knives wich are basically early ovoid knives but nothing else close.
I can't really make out a tang on your bi facial artifact. And I'm not seeing much of anything that would help place a type name to it. Is the area your calling a tang snapped off? Just wonderingJosh (Ky/Tn collector)
