  • McFaddin Beach find

I found this at Mcfaddin Beach, Texas on the Gulf of Mexico. I've heard people found some good artifacts there and was wondering if this was one of the good ones. It measutes 4 3/8ths long and 1 1/8th inches wide.
Can y'all identify this for me?...jim
Found this at McFaddin Beach, Texas. I was wondering how old it is and what it's called.
It was just laying there in the sand. 4 3/8ths inches long and an inch and 1/8th inches wide.

According to the Texas Beyond History article that CMD linked, this sounds like a similar situation to Doggerland. Old habitations now under sea level yielding a lot of artifacts.
I used to be young and foolish. Not so young any more.

I must agree that is a very nice artefact.
I think it may be the best recent find from there and I have gotten to fondle some extremely good G10 Scottys from that site.
              Could be pre finish Scotty.

It is a "Rock" when it's on the ground.
It is a "Specimen" when picked up and taken home.
