Browse the site a bit to get an idea of what actual artifacts look like man, that’ll save you from lugging all these regular rocks home.

I don't have to lug them home, they are practically falling out of a 30' embankment on my rear property.
      Thanks

I am agreeing with Jay. The typology data base on this site is excellent. I have learned a lot from that section.

My first several years of collecting brought many interesting rocks also. I used the "fits in hand theory" a lot. The human hand is amazing in its own because about a billion things fit in it perfectly due to the opposable thumb. That being said I could see where you thought it was an artifact. I would have grabbed it as well. You will come to find that Mother Nature and her geologic process make some astounding pieces of work. In time you will also be able to dismiss natural process from man made. It took some time for me also. As the others have stated check out the typology section. It has some great info. Happy hunting my friend...

If it wasn't for the sandstone layer at the business end I wouldn't have bothered to post it... guess I can use it to sand some wood or work over my dry feet.
Thanks for your kind words and time given to help out.

The dime is doing all the work here. Is that really fair to FDR?
