    Looks like a Jasper pebble . A natural stone in my opinion.

      That is natural, and looks to be very tumbled from water. Possibly found in, or was in a creek or river at one time. I agree it has jasper color, but that could be deceiving. Without seeing the interior it's hard to say what type of lithic it is, except that I would say it's some type of chert or flint. It's natural, so it won't hurt, knock a big flake off so we can see the interior. just out of curiosity.

        That is a nice piece there FW. I agree that its a rock but it sure looks like a lithic that would have been utilized for manufacturing. Like PK suggested crack it open and see just what the interior looks like. Many stones I have retrieved from the field and split open have had an amazing interior contrast compared to their dull exterior.
        The chase is better than the catch...
