  • Ok any ideas???

Went out to my favorite spot today and found a handful of broken points and a couple of decent ones. And this.... concretion? some kind of nodule? It had some kind of core, now gone, and the outer surface is covered in polygons????

I have only seen pictures of this so it’s a wild guess . A geode that the crystals were taken out of .

That's neat. Looks like it could be a fossil...or a Neolithic soccer ball, lol. Cool find.

How big is it and where was it found? My initial guess is maybe a sea urchin fossil, but the wall looks oddly thick.

Its about the size of a golf ball. I found it in a small field in north central Tennessee in a spot I find lots of flint artifacts.. never anything like this..

Kinda resembles a geodized crinoid calyx. Not saying that's what it is but there is a slight resemblance.
