  • Found in Jackson Co, Mo. anyone make an ID?

This point I found over the weekend in a creek in Jackson Co, Missouri. Although a rough point, I thought maybe someone has an idea of the point name? I can’t seem to find it in my research. Anyone know what the base type is called? I thank you for your time!

Hey Eastern, It looks like a percussion flake. One time I got a percussion flake that looks like a Mourning Dove.

I do believe that this is depatage and therefore an artifact. Looking at the flake scars you can tell that it was not intentionally knapped to this shape. Also notice that there is no edge work.
