Found this today..incredible crystal clear quartz in Rhode Island looks to have work on it under 10x loupe..a preform? Flake?

I literally have a jar of those . They sparkle in a field I hunt and I can’t resist picking them up . Yet to ever find a point out of that lithic .

I'm wondering if it was an attempt to turn a decent size flake into a point? Then maybe gave up on it..it has so much work all over it..I have a lother of flakes too not this material though just white quartz

I think I see the shape quite clearly. Stem, shoulders and point.

If there is flaking on both sides it could be a point but flaking on just one side is usually a discarded flake or a scraper

Granted it can be tough to show work on quartz in pictures, however I don't see the flaking you're talking about and it certainly doesn't appear to be a point to me. I would say it's most likely just a flake.

This was another find I'm unsure about? Do you guys think this is just a flake? It looks like it has a concave base?

Could be . I have so many exhausted points that look like they are ready to go back to Mother Earth . Those big thick flint and jaspers survive but some of these little delicate ones you want to hope and wonder .
