    Nice drill but they are hard to type with that base. Around here we call the un-notched drills paddle drills, probably not correct but. Probable woodland.

      With the curving of the blade It would indicate it is a knife that was used to exhaustion. It may have been used as a drill but is there any use wear indicating this type of use?
      Look to the ground for it holds the past!

            Awl, Augers , noses , Bodkins are all tools I think are over looked . I see handfuls of these left behind in fields .
