                      Just wanted to follow up with a few pics of the awl cleaned up and full in the image including the tip.
                      cleaned up you can see the patina better too

                          is it a joint or carved out like that .

                            that is a joint..from what i have seen a lot of bone awls would be split right down the middle of that joint to make 2 awls..but they left this one whole!
