  • Exciting day for me yesterday!

I picked all of this up in a new little area I hunted yesterday. I know there aren’t any magnificent pieces here but I still geek out over anything worked. I would be interested in opinions on any or all... Especially the little gold fish cracker looking point. The tip is blunt but worked. Thanks for looking.

Actually that could be a broken Thebes point. Big sandy is a side notch where the notches go inward from the side that upward look leads me to think it may not be a big sandy .

Makes sense .... I definitely see what you’re saying. That would mean it’s a pretty old piece then huh!? Awesome!

Sweet looks like a end scraper from what I can see. The narrow end would be hafted to a handle and the big end for scraping also looks as if there is a Spokeshave on the side. My favorite type to find. I only found one of that type last year. Its a good one.

Looks like you are on an Early Archaic site from the points and scrapers that I see. Congratulations on finding a new site.

Agree with Hoss on the point ID, many Thebes and Archaic Bevels were converted into hafted scrapers (blunts) The black piece is some sort of scraping tool. Nice finds.

                  Thanks you guys
it rained last night so I walked it again today.
the good news is I didn’t overlook much yesterday. The bad news is a bunch of broken pieces. The two larger pieces I don’t think are anything but I would appreciate your opinions. Let me know if you need more pics of something. Also I found a really cool flat button. If anyone knows buttons it seems nautical or naval... there is an anchor and maybe a sail in the detail. Anyone familiar?
