Hi, All. New here. Mostly on the hunt for fossils down in the Lowcountry of SC. But always an eye out for points, etc. Came across this piece on the edge of Charleston Harbor near an old oyster bank. Mostly just old shells and spartina grass. Not typical rock for me and the shape does seem to be flaked? It's about 1 1/4 inches from end to end at widest point. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Story.- Welcome to ARROWHEADS.com. The piece you show is probably made of a local chert from your area. It is a simple tool. Who knows just what each one was used for, but it looks very much like a tool. Keep hunting, and keep posting picts. of you Native finds. We'll try to help you identify them.
