  • I found this big rock...

    This was sticking part way out of a creek bank about 2’ below the surface. There are no other large rocks any where near, and the area around the creek has lots of flint artifacts. Oval in shape, one side looks to be pecked or worn slightly hollow. The ends show percussion fractures, and there is polish in some areas. One side has a stain that was bright red when it first came out of the soil. The weight is over 7 pounds. Hard, heavy stone. Think it was used by first people? Click image for larger version

    Looks like it was used for several different purposes ? So no cobble in the creek if its out of place good chance on it being an artifact .
