I found this piece of material Saturday in a field I’ve hunting for the last five weeks. Was it a tool or is it a preform also I haven’t found any material like this before any ideas?

Looks large so it could be part of a Hoe to thin for a ax or Celt I would think

Material appears to be chert. My first impressions are that someone tried to make something and discarded it for whatever reason.
