  • Another Texas Artifact

I found this point in Denton county Texas as well. It is nicely made IMHO. I found it about 100 yards from where I found most of the other points. It is two inches in length. All information welcome!

Just trying to learn so this just a guess. The base seems like an adena. The ears seem a little more pronounced then most of the ones I've seen, but some do have ears like that. Small area of TX they maybe in.
Hope others will chime in that really know what they are talking about.
Looking more into it the area I saw was a trade area and those ears maybe to sharp (might be a way to describe it)

Maybe a Langtry, but I think those are more Central Texas.

It is a Gary. That style was something of a transition from the earlier Wells. Very nice and collectable style.

Could be a langtry arenosa . Sorry guys adena culture was not that far south or west. The adena people were upper midwest, east of the Mississippi river. The point does share attributes of adena .

I agree with it being a Gary. I bought a similar point out of Cobbs. County GA. I believe. It's called a Cypress Creek Practically the same point. Kim
