    Hi everyone! I was originally going to respond to each but I can see it started a fascinating conversation. Thank you so much to each of you for your help and perspectives. I greatly appreciate it. I hope to post again soon.

    P.S. - I ended up never purchasing them. These were at an antiques show in New England and I always like to do my homework first.

    Hyzer Thanks for the tips. I will probably use a hot glue gun and make a fun background. I enjoy projects like this... looking at my "stash" of stuff though, I realized I need some more junk! Thankfully my tobacco fields are down and after a fresh till will be ready to hunt! I'll definitely make this a winter project when I'm locked in the house with the wife and kid for months on end.

      Hot glue gun sounds much easier and should work just as well if not better. I don't have one but now I think I will get one for future "chert art" projects. Your "fun background" already has me thinking!
