I found this point several years ago in Mecklenburg County, NC and am to this day at a loss for its definitive type.
Length is 3cm, I believe it is made from aphyric rhyolite.  It's certainly a high quality lithic material with a fine grain.  The color, which these rather poor quality photos may not convey, is a light grey-green.  One side shows a more patinated section remaining from the pre-form which is light tan in color.  The tip was broken in antiquity and is the same color as the rest of the point.
Both material and workmanship are higher quality than is typically associated with post-archaic points in NC (at least those with which I'm familiar).  But the small size and form have me stumped.  Thanks very much for any opinions.
