  • Nothing New - Scraper -and- Blade?

Found these on a distant hill from my dig site.  The scraper is really hafted and only the working end has been sharpened.  Does anyone know if these can be dated or are scrapers pretty much universal in use?

I'm not sure if this next one is a blade or a preform.  Appears to be random flaked.  It has been ground on the hafting end so I was leaning toward a blade but what do I know??

Chuck I would call the top piece a large form of a thumb scraper. To my knowledge unless the scraper was hafted to indicate what point type it was modified from scrapers are pretty much universal. Second piece I would call a preform, of what I am not sure, maybe Adena type, but not an expert on flaking, both neat pieces though.-Bill
