    ActionScript pop-up Error Messages

Please note that if you are beginning to receive pop-up messages headed “ActionScript Error” with some techno-babble underneath, then it has nothing to do with the forum!

Microsoft released 13 critical security updates for Windows 8.X on Tuesday of last week. One of them (relating to security flaws in the Adobe “Flash Player”) was the wrong version!

The problem update is Microsoft’s “KB3087916” and if your system is set to automatically install updates then this is the one causing the error messages. It can be uninstalled, but you will still get nag messages to re-install it and it won’t work any better the second time (so if you do uninstall, ignore the nag messages).

Microsoft will be releasing a new update next Tuesday which hopefully will resolve the problem. Probably better to wait for that.
