  • Help with photos

I wish the old forum was still here. Ya know, " If it ain't broke, don't fix it thing ". I am trying to post some photos of a beautiful Clovis and a Folsom that I recently acquired, but after I write the text part out, I don't know how to add and upload photos. It's probably simple and makes me look a little stupid, so please help! Thanks guys, Paul

Paul, can you use the camera icon to the top left of text box and upload them that way? Try using the camera icon, not the clipboard icon. Double clicking an uploaded camera thumbnail will full size the photo.

your picture file size may be too big to upload. if it is larger than two megabytes it is too big.

Man I must be stupid with this. Is KB larger or smaller than MB. My photos are between 40KB and 137 KB.

An MB is 1000x larger then a KB. So I think your photo should upload, but it did not.

They are too small now. 1000 kb equals 1 mb You are shooting with a Sony camera what is the model number. I can see your file name begins with "DSC" Sony uses that as a sort of prefix for their file names. It stands for "Digital Still Camera" If I knew what modle I might be ablke to help you find information on changing the file size using the camera's menu.

Paul that camera default to a shooting size of 8 megs. I noticed you said you 40 and 137 kb are you setting it on VGA to get such small files? Try it at 3M . Click image for larger version

Try shooting some pics while set at 3 M then check to see what the actual size is you get. It may vary below another thing is do not set it to fine leave it standard. Fine and 8 megs is good for creating poster sized pictures using a printer but for forums standard and smaller sized photos are fine.

On another note last July we upgraded I mean July 2014. The doo doo really hit the fan at that time. Many people could not post pictures at all and we lost some good folks. Then around Christmas 14 we got it straightened out but at that time we decided to stop using Joomla as a platform. The one we chose is much faster , different yes but faster loading and it is a good platform. One huge trouble is the amount of differnt gizmos logging in. What used to be something someone would log in with a computer now has Iphones, Androids, Ipads, Notebooks, Macbooks Laptops and Desktops with operating systems covering a huge spectrum. We knew there would be glitches and had hoped for better. We still have a ways to go in working some of these things out. Please be patient with us.

Hi Hoss, Thanks for your time in helping me out with this. I'm sure I will get it sooner or later. I set the camera to 3M, let's see if that works. I'll just post the photos and can add descriptions later.
