    Time Period : 800 A.D. to 1750 A.D.
    Location : Coincides with the Mississippian culture in the Eastern states. Type site- St. Clair Co., IL. Found at Cahokia mounds.
    Shape : Basically a small to medium size straight sided isosceles triangular arrowhead. Straight, slightly excurvate or slightly concave bases are characteristic.
    Description:
    A thin triangular point with usually straight sides and base. Many are of high quality and some are finely serrated. Flaking characteristics range from rough percussion to fine pressure flaking.
    "Madison were named by Scully for examples found at the Cahokia site in MO/IL. Basically, the true "Madison" point is an unnotched, triangular, Cahokia-related Mississippian point.There are many different Mississippian triangular arrow points found throughout the country that are called Madison - but they aren't."
