Large basal notched or bifurcated bases. Basal ears are large and rounded with edge retouch on one face and a large hertzian cone flake scar on the other face. Heavy basal grinding. First stage has a flattened cross section with large random flake scars. Controlled percussion was used for preform thinning and blade edge rejuvenation. Heavily reworked specimens can have serrations.
Early Archaic, dating from 7000 to 6500 B.C.
