  • Knight Island

Knight Island points are small to medium sized. They are very thin and finely made. They are generally narrow and the longer examples can display a Pentagonal form. The cross sections are flattened but can be elliptical and they have straight bases with side notches. The flaking is Random. Knight Island is diagnostic of the late Woodland to early Mississipian period 1500-1000 years before present. The type site is Knight Island, Wheeler reservoir, Tennessee River.

This example is from central Ky.
