    Appalachian
    • Time Period : 5000-3000 B.P.
    • Location : East Tennessee and Georgia into the Carolinas.
    • Shape : Stemmed

    Description:
A medium to large size, rather crudely made stemmed point with a concave, straight or convex base. Most examples are made of quartzite. Shoulders are tapered and the base is usually ground. This point was named by Lewis & Kneberg for examples found in East Tenn. and Western North Carolina which were made of quartzite. However, this is the same type as Savannah River.
