  • Fox Creek Stemmed

Fox Creek Stemmed points date to the Middle Woodland Period. In Ritchie's typology, they were known as Steubenville Stemmed. Some collectors and Eastern typologies still use the Steubenville name. Ritchie and others did not have associated dates with these points and many felt they were Paleo in age. They are known now to be a common Woodland style. Here is Ritchie's description of what are now more correctly known as Fox Creek Stemmed. Disregard the early ages mentioned.
