Squibnocket Stemmed

This is a Late Archaic point style named after Squibnocket Pond on Martha's Vineyard where New York State archaeologist first excavated the type in a datable context. They are narrow, thick spike shaped points. They may show very slight shoulders or no shoulders at all, with a sharply tapered stem. In New England, they are almost always made of quartz.
