  • Hell Gap (Texas)

There are points in Texas that look similar to the Hell Gap point type but Hester states: “no Hell Gaps are found in Texas. Michael Collins, who is The Expert on Paleoindian in Texas, does not think that true Hell Gap occurs in Texas.”

However when looking at this example, I would have to agree with Clovisoid and disagree with the archies as this artifact certainly appears to be a Hell Gap. If the stem on this specimen is ground then in my opinion it would fit right in with classic HG's found in the Central and High Plains region.
