I need some education. What is the difference between that and a base tang? In all the pictures I have seen they all look so similar Is it the same type as a Base Tang but called something different because of geography and fist discovery by different people? Man I have a lot to learn about TX material?

These are called San Saba Bifaces. There are two types of these one the SanSaba County form which is found in association with Marcos & Castroville culture points, and then there is the Perino San Saba Biface which are associated with Ensor culture points. Much more contexual data, from controlled excavations will be needed to asses the temporal and spatial parameters for these two forms. Age is late to transitional Archaic. Distribution is Central and west central Texas, into South Texas and the costal plain.
