This stone oil lamp measures 3 X 2 ¼ X 1 ¼ inches. The cavity is 9/16 inch deep. Sadly there are two sizeable chips from the top rim. The inside and sides of the lamp are polished smooth whereas the bottom is left rather rough. This egg shaped oil lamp was collected in the mid 1930’s from Kodiak Island Alaska. The dig team was on an expedition from Washington University in St. Louis. Photos of the dig site were stored with the oil lamp.
