  • Hardstone Axes

    This was found by my dad when he was checking hogs.  A sow that didnt have its nose rung was rooting this artifact out of the ground.

                        Ray, those are some beauties, I have only found one. This one from South Carolina has a few dinks and dings, she ain't pretty, but I will never part with it.

                            NOT....two halves of anything...or halves of axes. That is some pretty rough quartzite there. Sorry, not a heartbreaker!

                              Best I could do on short notice. I had this picture on my web page.

                              This one is 6" long too and a beauty. Found in New Haven Co. CT.
