Lockatong Argillite is found in NJ and PA. In southern New England, it was commonly used in the Atlantic Phase of the Broadpoint Tradition, as well as for he Watertown variety of Mansion Inn blades. During Middle Woodland times, it was commonly used for Fox Creek points.
The color can be similar to Attleboro Red Rhyolite, but it can be readily identified by an extreme degree of weathering.
The following examples, from RI and Ma. demonstrate the extreme weathering suffered by this lithic.

Here are two Fox Creek points from RI. The first was found on the shore of a bay. The second in a field. Both show an extreme degree of weathering for a point that is not that old, relatively speaking, being roughly in the 1500-2000 year old range.
