    The Heddle Frame



    Here’s a link to download “A Primitive Frame for Weaving Narrow Fabrics” by Otis Tufton Mason from the Report of the US National Museum for 1899 to the Smithsonian:

    The report details various types of “Heddle Frame” used by Native Americans for weaving narrow items such as belts and sashes and makes comparisons to later items used by European settlers and through to the Industrial Revolution.
