Not a whole that hasn't been covered before.

It all depends where they lived in your area, and made the tools / hunted.

Sometimes the most un-interesting places have artifacts. Think the creek behind the library in your city.

And other times there's nothing there to find.

All I can say is walk every piece of land you can. Only way to cover it all. If you can dig, dig. If you can hunt caves and shelters, do that.
