  • Planting season in Western KY

I am new at this and have been hunting fields along the Ohio River in Western KY. The farmers are preparing the fields for planting so I am going to give the creeks a try. I enjoyed reading another thread or two about the creeks. I have not found much but have found some flint and a few broken points. How do I find creeks to hunt? I have been looking at GPS and Google Earth to find creeks and streams and tributaries of the rivers. Of course anytime I’m driving I am looking. Any advice or ideas?

I look at the land around the creeks. If the land looks like it would hold artifacts then I look at the cobblestones in the creek. If its all sand or mud I pick a different location cause the artifacts aren't going to be visible most times they will be under the sand and mud. You might find pottery and flakes but the heavy stuff will be at the bottom.
