  • Hello From Texas

Hello everyone. Glad to have found this forum. Don't know that I'm really a collector, but I'm able to hunt for relics now and so my curiosity has been piqued!

    Welcome Greg.
Not sure there is such a thing as a casual collector! Once you start finding them and picking them up, it's all over!

            Welcome to our place.
Hope you find a good site to pick points.
Not many places around here anymore.
Through a period of over 50 years I personally have seen several good sites get covered with industrial commercial and residential development.
Some of the best point pickin in the DFW area gone!!!!!
If you find a place legally keep it picked clean as long as you can.
As quickly as this area is growing there will not be much close in open area left.
The only thing left now are isolated areas away from DFW.
There is the occasional single find in a creek.
So keep lookin and let us know how well you do.
If you need help let me know, I'll see what I can do.
I live near the DFW airport.

It is a "Rock" when it's on the ground.
It is a "Specimen" when picked up and taken home.

welcome from Central Kentucky. I have been through northern and eastern tx a few times. It looks like a great place to hunt for arrowheads. Plenty of rolling hills near rivers and streams. Thats where I find my best points. Near water on high ground that affords a good view of the surroundings. The hard part would be to find cultivated ground in this modern age of no-till grains.
