Hello to everyone. I am a new recruit to 'rock hounding' and to forums in general. My name is Sheelagh, I am a retired schoolteacher from Inverness, now resident across the water in the Dordogne, France. It may be some time before I feel confident enough to post my findings, but please be gentle with me if they are ordinary rocks.

Thank you for welcoming me. I almost forgot to mention...My husband wanted me to add that his uncle was a well known archaeologist in the 1930's. We have some boxes in the loft from his estate with artefacts he collected. There is a wonderful picture of him, on hands and knees, peering from the deeps of a neolithic flint mine. If I ever get round to unpacking it, and your members are interested I will take some photographs.
