Welcome. Possibly a flake tool, but as the others said, the photos aren’t clear.

      Gmorning everyone..
thank you for all of your observations and input. I think the material is quartzite. It is rough to touch. In the same breath I'd like to say that the edges all seem to be smoother and come to sharp edge, all sides but the thicker side which looks a little on curve slightly. The back side is somewhat flat. Im adding a pic for this. Granitic maybe, but searching the net it looks more like coarse quartzite. I've got a lot of learning to do!
Where I go, I have to say that the parking areas the towns place down gravel that seems to track down to some areas near the banks. Sometimes its hard to tell whats natural than what is put and it gets rather annoying.
I try to stay away from the mix zones for sure. I have been walking the trails and searching areas I run into along the way and dig and scrape along banks, specially when the waters low from drought. Or if a dried up water way that helps source a river is routing down hill I also search there as well as in dirt and moss hanging from a fallen trees roots and area below.
this piece ive presented was near a dirt bank mixed adjacent to a bunch of tree roots running down off the bank. Im agreeing that most likely its just a rock imposter, but I think I'm going to keep it anyways.
Thank you again with helping me, looked up meanings to your terminology & learned alot off just that!

I'm also new to hunting for Indian artifacts.
I live in south county RI.
I think I might have found a piece of arrow. Ill post it as soon as I can get pic to resize.
I don't think it's an Artifact Spirit, maybe a flake of one, but keep looking. Kim

Yes, it is quartzite, but your latest photo suggests it’s a rock, and it does not look like a utilized flake, based on that photo anyway....

I don’t know much about artifacts from RI. I do know about a few products made there. I’ve been selling Amtrol products since the 70’s. Personally testing a WX 250 for 33 years now. I’ve been invited to view the plant on many occasions, courtesy of Amtrol. The tanks are the best the world has ever seen! I think if I were you, I’d look the shores for artifacts, good luck !
