  • New from California

Hey everybody my name is Ira and I’m from somewhere in California. I just became really paranoid after reading about the idiotic laws in this state. I started arrowhead hunting about 15 or so years ago. I only surface hunt private land owned by friends. Anyhoo the photo included is my most recent find. I think it’s a Rossi Square Stem.

Here’s some more photos of this chunker. It shows some clear resharpening and what looks to be a flat ground base. I like this one a lot. I was looking at this spot the day of a very goods friend’s memorial service and didn’t find anything. I went back a couple days later and wasn’t even thinking about him, I was there about 10 minutes when I picked this up and I instantly thought of him. So this one is for Dana “Danger” Charvet. A mentor and friend to me and my sons Judo Sensei. 🤙🏼

Thanks for the input. Do you have any idea about the oval uni-facial scraper? Flat on one side and flaked only on the upper side.

It is very cool and mostly free of inclusions, I’m almost positive this would be considered Franciscan Chert.

My family lived in Savannah for years, my Aunt Ethel worked for the chamber of commerce there. My brother and I collected some very cool carnivorous plants along the roadside ditches there over 30 years ago the progeny of which are still thriving in Mendocino County to this day. I posted some scraper photos in the What did I find thread, a turtle back apparently 🤙🏼
