  • Model 1840 N.C.O sword

    Here is one of the highlight swords I brought back from Pennsylvania. I am sorry, but I have to add more detail pics tomorrow. I just haven't had time do resize pictures. I was busy today, and I'll be busy tomorrow. Here is the overall look for now. Details and story coming tomorrow!

    I used to know the Manufacturer of that Sword -years back when I was up on the C/W goodies. Very nice!!!

          These swords were often carried by Union Sergeants, or sometimes musicians. My 3x great uncle Henry Trautman, a musician in the 172nd Pennsylvania Volunteers may have carried a sword like this.

          The photo below is a First Sergeant with the model 1840 sword.

          I found the sword, along with others, underneath a couch in my grandfathers basement. He usually bought anything, and everything at auction, including swords.

            Imagine walking into the American Foundry where those Swords were Smithed out!!! Watching those Blacksmith’s create those weapons🇺🇸 Most of those old Forger/Blade Smiths immigrated from England—Sheffield Country!!!

              Every movie I watch that people are using swords I think these are the true warriors . It’s easy to pull a trigger .
