  • Old pipe and porcelain piece in creek bed

Went out creek walking today, hoping to find any NA tools or artifacts, but no luck. I did, however, find an old porcelain pipe bowl and a piece of an indigo porcelain cup.
I researched porcelain pipes and apparently they’ve been manufactured in Germany (mostly) from the 1700’s up to about 1920. With the old dish fragments and glass bottles I found, this was all likely washed down stream from an old homestead trash site. Likely late 1800s.
I found quite a few bones, but nothing obviously butchered or altered by man.
This dried up creek bed is about 100 yards down hill from an NA site, but I didn’t see anything worked. This was my first attempt in a creek and it was difficult because there are SO many rocks!

Looks difficult to me. I guess one develops an “eye” for creek hunting. So keep looking!

Cool finds! I could spend days in that gravel. No creeks like that in my part of the world.

Always liked creek hunting. Secret in slow. A 10 acre field in 2 hrs, a creek like that 50 ft in 2 hrs. After a rain is best as everything isn't the same color/
