Being a tree climber means I get a lot of calls about getting folks RC airplanes down. I'd rather have an RC rescue than a cat rescue any day.

            Keepin' the post alive!

            My latest distractions...

President McKinley sideband rig, box stock, running barefoot, no amp, into my first permanent roof mount antenna.

Used a double din conversion kit to double stack CB and stereo in dash. McKinley has front firing speaker.

With solar cycle 25 ramping up I've made contacts as far away as Oregon sitting in my Jeep in St Clair, MO.

Traxxas Maxx running a "conservative" 3S lipo. Numerous attempts at breaking it have failed.

Brought it to work one day, turned it on, not realizing I had put the speed control into learning mode.

Well, it learned that applying the brakes was full throttle forward. It basically thought any trigger position was full throttle forward.

Before I could react, I ran it full throttle through the open garage door into our maintenance building square into the rear tire of our JD tractor.

It came out unscathed besides a small crease in the body. Missed my supervisor by inches and probably would have broken his ankle.

            Hobbies are good mkay.

Oh yeah, here's one of my Axial SCX24 micro crawlers in action on the Chubb Trail. Drove with my left hand (thumb steering), filmed with my right.

got back into radio a few years ago as part of my emergency preparedness responsibilities, got the 955 Stryker on a vertical dipole 45 feet to the feed point, can talk to most of the planet with it barefoot, some of the best contacts haven't been Africa, Hawaii, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, took me a while to get it right, started pretty simple with a old realistic base and home brew ground plane , did a DIN in the pick-up using the Lincoln II , have yet to make a DX contact with it ,
