  • I was begining to wonder if I was still in Canada.

Yesterday I was working a field for the umpteenth time and decided to dig every target that was not pure iron.
Once you start doing this it's amazing to see what is still in the ground.
Detritus first. It was bottle cap mania for a while.

    And shotgun shells galore.

But underneath this a few pennies were hiding.

Including this which will be put in next years fun hunt.

2 days previously was when I found those 7 Chinese cash coins and then the next day it was Spanish silver and this is how Saturday started out.

This one has a barley discernible date of 1915.

And it seams that Canada is not the only place with biodegradable coins now a days.

      They certainly do Josh.
Sorry guys and gals but the server crashed last night in the middle of my post  :dunno: so here's the rest of it.
It was not until late in the day before I found my first Canadian Coin keeper.

And most of us agree in that the older coins no matter which country had a ton of style compared to modern coins.

Now as I said if there are pennies there can be silver hiding.

Another pocket knife for the collection.

And I finished up both the day and this field with this.

That will be all for this particular field for me this season. But who knows what may still be hiding that has not been found    Maybe next year.
